The 2016 Mazda 6 is the second most popular Mazda sedan outside United States and although not having the massive market share it still is one of the biggest rivals of highly popular Toyota Camry and Honda Accent. Mazda always plays on performance and therefore this vehicle is one of the most powerful in the whole mid-size sedan segment.
New version again comes with a great 6 speed transmission, with few changes to the chassis it comes with significantly lower weight and has fantastic cornering abilities. These features make this model very fast and fuel efficient at the same time. There are plenty of changes for the 2016 model year that go from improvements to exterior styling, interior refinements and new driving modes allowing this model to attract even larger number of potential buyers.
When it comes to exterior new model received two drastic changes in its look and the first is that its old headlights are replaced with full LED ones. These new headlights also come with upgraded design and in between there is a redesigned grille. New grille has the reverse trapezoidal shape and another new thing are the new additional fog lights. Some styling features that were kept from the last year’s model are the very long hood and muscular front fenders. Overall look remained same but with few nice upgrades that make this vehicle much more interesting.
The 2016 Mazda 6 comes with very impressive interior styling that can satisfy most drivers with its luxury and features level. Previous model also had some nice interior touches and now most of these are further refined and compose one of the best interior design solutions in the whole segment. One of the biggest changes in the interior is the introduction of new 7 inch touch screen display that rises from the dashboard and brings the possibility to control phone, music, navigation and various settings related to your car. There’s also an electronic parking brake that can be very useful when it comes to reverse parking. One of the biggest remarks of this model is its tight interior and in some cases lack of space. On paper this model comes with 38,7 cubic inches of back seat leg room, but in reality this pace is much smaller and taller passengers will have problems on longer trips.
There is only one engine option in this model’s line up and it is one of the engines that offer the best performance in the whole class. It is a 2.5 liter naturally aspired inline four cylinder piece that is able to develop 184 horsepower and 185 pound feet of torque. This engine also comes with very good fuel efficiency and on highway it can return even 40 mpg. There are three different transmission systems that can be bought, manual, automatic and i-Eloop. Fuel efficiency is different with each, so manual comes with 25 mpg in the city and 37 on the highway, automatic comes with 26 in the city and 38 on the highway and the i-Eloop version comes with the best fuel economy of 28 mpg in the city and 40 on the highway.
