For many years Lincoln was in problems but with delivery of 2016 Lincoln MKC and similar models this car maker is becoming serious competitor on the market. This premium utility vehicle will be carryover since it was redesigned for the 2015th year model and we do not expect to see many changes.
For those drivers that are on market and are looking for a luxury vehicle on utility segment need to keep in mind that this is one of those models that come with great features but also pretty high price. This is quite understandable and if you want luxury and comfort you need to pay for it. Starting price for the this vehicle is $33,260 and for all-wheel drive version you will have to pay almost $2,500 extra. If you want Black Label version equipped with more powerful engine and all-wheel drive system get ready to pay $48,950 and even more if you add few extras on this.
Engine lineup is consisted of two pretty small yet powerful EcoBoost units. Base for new MKC is the 2.0 liter turbocharged unit from EcoBoost family that can produce 240 hp at 5,500 rpm and 270 lb-ft of torque at 3,000 rpm. Optional is the recently introduced into EcoBoost lineup, the 2.3 liter turbo that in this version brings 275 hp at 5,500 rpm and 300 lb-ft of torque at 3,000 rpm. Both of these units offer plenty enough of power for your daily drive no matter if you are in city or on the highway it will be more than adequate.
Buyers that are ready to pay more than $30,000 for a base version of any car are also expecting to see it well planted to the ground and well in terms of sound insulation. Lincoln managed to offer great level of insulation from road and tire noise and you will have the feel that you are in one vehicle of much higher class. One of the things that we really like and is especially useful when you decide to push 2016 Lincoln MKC little bit harder is the CCD system. CCD stands for Continuously Controlled Damping which monitors road allowing suspension to adjust depending on the road conditions, adjustments are done every 20 milliseconds which is very impressive.
As soon as we take a look at the MKC it is obvious that it comes with similarities in front segment with MKZ model. Unique split wing grille is both aggressive and refined representing start of the slik body while the high beltline in combination with low shoulder line creates really powerful and athletic looks. When, on top of this, we add panoramic glass roof and 18 inch wheels that are standard or even larger 19 inch version it radiates with sporty character.
2016 Lincoln MKC Review
When creating luxury vehicle it is important to offer top of the line materials in interior and Lincoln was fully aware of this so we are getting quite nice fit and finish here. High level of craftsmanship and new tech has been combined to offer luxury and unique feel inside just like it is the case with exterior. Center console is dominated with large 8-inch touch screen that brings controls and most important features to driver while physical buttons will allow easy and quick access to both audio system and climate controls. High quality plush leather will be a warm welcome to this luxury rich interior while the French stitching will give it a nice detail.
There is no official announcement about the release date but since 2016th version will be a carryover we are sure that it will come quite soon. Dealership availability is expected during the fall of this year and the 2016 Lincoln MKC will be one of the top offers in luxury compact vehicle segment.
