When the Hyundai delivered the redesigned Sonata in 2011 it attracted a lot of attention and reviews were quite positive. This vehicle managed to get a decent part of the midsize sedan market and the 2015 Hyundai Sonata comes with additional changes that will make it even more competitive.
It is quite obvious that Hyundai is not ready just to deliver small changes for its quite successful lineup of vehicle and because of this we are getting information’s about some nice changes and improvements. Two teaser images and few leaked spy photos announce what will come, these images are follows with a set of details about differences that we will be getting.
There are no reasons for the Hyundai to change anything major for both exterior and interior but still we will be getting improvements. When we are looking at the exterior it is quite obvious that we are getting similar sized vehicle and that it will draw inspiration from a larger Genesis. On the front we can see the hexagonal grille while the hood will be also redesigned so that it would comply with European regulations for pedestrian safety but still to maintain recognizable fluidic precision design language that we are able to see on many new vehicles from Hyundai.
What we could also hear is that the hybrid will be again different from a standard version. Differences that we do expect to see include smaller turbine wheels but those could be also available on other trim levels. Drivers that want larger alloy wheels will be able to get revised 18 inch Hyper Silver model that is currently available on SE trim.
Changes For 2015 Hyundai Sonata
Rendering image that we have received recently is in line with what we were able to see on a previously delivered spy photos. Depending on the level we will be getting different features but we are pretty sure that the 2015 Hyundai Sonata will offer LCD that will be positioned between gauges on the instrument cluster, there is a good chance that entire instrument cluster will be the LCD.
Design and materials that will be used will be of better quality so it will offer higher level of refinement and comfort. Interior will offer blockier looks and as a result company will be getting more flexibility when it comes to placement of the features inside.
Changes will be also delivered to the powertrains where we do expect to see only turbocharged units. It is quite possible that all naturally aspirated units will be dropped. If this happens the choice will include 1.6 liter inline four cylinder unit that we were able to see in Veloster Turbo and that will again develop about 200 hp. More power will be offered with 2.0 liter inline four turbo engine but at this moment the power output of this engine has not been specified.
2015 Hyundai Sonata Release Date
We are still waiting to hear when the 2015 Hyundai Sonata will debut on the U.S. market but it seems that the New York Auto Show is the best guess. We could hear that this vehicle could be presented in South Korea before the end of this month. If this happens we can expect to see it on sale during this year and most likely in fall.
