The 2015 Hyundai Elantra is the one more midsize sedan that doesn’t lack good features but you can get it for affordable price. The price won’t be more than $18,500 for SE model while for the GT will be less than $20,000. The Coupe version is delivered with standard automatic transmission and will cost around $20,500. For the Elantra model with all optional equipment you’ll have to pay around $27,000.
It isn’t very extravagant, and some materials that it is made of look inexpensive but it is a high quality vehicle that will satisfy most of the customers. It became a real competitor to other compacts like Toyota Corolla, Ford Focus or Honda Civic. But none of them can beat its 10 year 100,000 mile engine warranty. Hyundai needed to offer more than competition and it seems that they managed to do just this with Elantra.

For the SE and Limited trims there is offered the 1.8 liter 4-cylinder unit that delivers 148 hp and 130 lb-ft of torque. It can be mated to a six-speed automatic transmission, Hyndai’s manual-shifting mode called Shiftronic whose fuel efficiency is estimated to be 27/38 mpg or to a 6-speed manual transmission, but only on sedan and GT and its fuel efficiency is 28/38 mpg city/highway.
As an optional there is the 2.0 liter GDI 4-cylinder unit that delivers 173 hp and torque to 154 lb-ft. This engine is standard on the Sport, GT and Coupe versions, it offers powerful performance without significantly harming to fuel economy which is estimated to be 24/34 mpg on manual option and 24/35 mpg on automatic Sedan, 24/33 mpg on automatic GT and 24/34 mpg on automatic Coupe.
The base SE trim is equipped with features like AM/FM/CD/satellite radio, USB/iPod inputs, Bluetooth connectivity, 6 speakers sound system, keyless entry, cruise control, telescopic steering wheel, 15 inch aluminum-alloy wheels and similar. Coupe and GT trims come with heated front seats and GT only with a glove department that can be cooled. Sedan and Coupe versions offer six-airbags and GT version has one more for the driver’s knees.

The Limited trim has additions like heated front and rear seats, leather seating and power sunroof. Coupe can also be equipped with power sunroof and leather seating. GT includes as optional a Tech Package with navigation, rear-back camera and a 7-inch screen. This is more than what we are getting from competitors but still it comes at quite affordable price. Final verdict on this model will be offered after the launch and tests. Release date has been rumored and it could happen in the next few months and even before the fall that this model will be offered at dealerships.
Elantra’s interior is roomy with possibility to fold rear seats what makes more room in its trunk when is needed to carry bigger things. If you don’t like SUVs but still often have to haul extra gear this is the right car for you. It is a good looking vehicle with a lot of curves, noticeable beltline along the sides and drawn-looking headlights. The GT hatchback has a sloping roof that gives it a modern look. Coupe version is designed with twin tailpipes in the rear pronouncing its power and performances.
