With the delivery of Crosstour Honda wanted to exploit the popularity of their sedan Accord and to make a great crossover segment entry. These two model share a lot and the 2015 Honda Crosstour will again be based on the sedan bringing larger trunk and different styling from almost anything that we are currently able to see on the market.
Immediately we need to add that previous models did not have much success since many potential buyers considered this one to be the hatchback version of Accord. This was pretty simple to understand since there are a decent number of crossovers available on the market that both offer more trunk space and more room in the cabin. Another thing that many have noticed is the fact that the design language is not that pleasing and we could hear this from many.
Largest changes were offered with previous year model and even this was not a full redesign we did receive some noticeable changes. On the front we have different grille and slightly modified front part making this vehicle look more modern and up to date. Other significant change is the delivery of a new 3.5 liter V6 engine from the Earth Dreams family which is more efficient than previous version. Other than this there are few tech upgrades, most of those are small and not so easy to notice but still offer improvements over the previous model.
2015 Honda Crosstour Review
Let’s continue to the engine lineup, which is quite modest. You can choose between the base 2.4 liter unit and the optional 3.5 liter V6 that we have mentioned before. Base version comes with four cylinders and is capable of delivering 192 hp and 162 lb-ft of torque which is good for most drivers. This unit will be able to return 22/31 mpg which is better than the previous model that offered 21/29 and is achieved with few tweaks and optimization. Those that need more power will chose 3.5 liter V6 engine that produces 278 hp and 252 lb-ft of torque. Through a six speed automatic power is transferred to front wheel or to all wheels and we are getting 20/29 mpg in first version and 18/28 in second version.
At this point there are only two trim levels and you can chose either EX or the EX-L model. Have in mind that only second option can be opted to be delivered with all-wheel drive. Standard features on the Ex trim include moon roof, projector beam headlights, backup camera, 17 inch alloy wheels, seven speakers sound system, automatic climate control, heated side mirrors, Bluetooth, steering wheel controls and more. Leather trim is available on EL-X versions while the front seats are offered with heating option, leather wrapped steering wheel and gearshift knob, automatic dimming rearview mirror, Kevlar cone speakers, Pandora radio, HondaLink and more.
When it comes to safety, the 2015 Honda Crosstour is again one of the best offers on the market with some really great features. From this model we will be getting things like ABS, EBD, brake assist, Vehicle Stability Assist, driver and passenger airbags and side curtain airbags. Changes to the body design and its structure further improves safety of passengers and all these features makes the 2015 Honda Crosstour one of the best choices when it comes to safety.
Release Date Of 2015 Honda Crosstour
