There is no doubt that the Civic lineup is one of the most important for the Honda and as a result we are getting regular upgrades for this vehicle. What we do know for the 2015 Honda Civic is that it will come in many different shapes as coupe, hybrid and sedan but also that all of these will receive slight changes.
Vehicles in this lineup will be offered with new features since the recent changes to design allow it to be still competitive and interesting to buyers. Interior will come with new touch screen while the SmartEntry that comes with push button will be standard on many models. For the Si models we have slightly improved performances and little more power while the new CVT automatic gearbox will be also offered.
When the 2012 redesign was delivered it did not receive many great reviews and most stated that it is quite boring and uninteresting. Because of that engineers at Honda delivered another redesign for the 2013th, this time it came as a much better and nicer looking vehicle that offers a lot more. New front and rear end improved road presence giving it more refined but also the more aggressive looks. With lower wide grille in combination with smaller top grille engine will get optimal amount of air while the back is offered with few chrome accents and taller trunk door.
Changes For 2015 Honda Civic
If we are talking about interior than we need to say that the 2015 Honda Civic will continue to bring dashboard that is made of higher quality materials and that has a logical layout making it pretty simple to operate. Soft touch materials and nice color combinations pushes the luxury to the next level when compared to previous models. Another great thing about this car is that it comes with significant amount of interior space and that is one of the advantages that it has over main competitors in the segment. Ergonomics are great, drive fatigue is minimal, storage space and visibility from the cabin are things that will be among things that most drivers will like.
When this last redesign was delivered it did not offer turbocharged and direct injection engines but we certainly do hope that this will change soon so that the 2015 Honda Civic and future models would offer even better fuel economy that is at pretty impressive level at this moment. Base model was offered with 1.8 liter inline four cylinder unit that produces 140hp at 6500 rpm and 128 lb-ft of torque at 4300 rpm. With manual transmission you will be getting 28/36 mpg, automatic returns 28/39 and fuel saving version HF in combination with automatic comes with 29/41 mpg result. Have in mind that there is also Civic that uses natural gas and it also comes with 1.8 liter engine that in this case develops 110 hp at 6300 rpm and 106 lb-ft of torque at 4200 rpm.
More power is delivered with the 2.4 liter inline four cylinder engine that pumps out 201 hp at 7000 rpm and 170 lb-ft of torque at 4400 rpm. According to EPA this model will return 22/31 mpg in city/highway drive conditions. For drivers that want further improvements on the fuel economy field there is the hybrid version. This model combines 1.5 liter inline four cylinder engine and electric motor for total system power of 110 hp available at 5500 rpm and 127 lb-ft of torque from 1000 to 3500 rpm. Impressive results are achieved and it will return 44 mpg in all driving conditions.
2015 Honda Civic Release Date
Even the official release date has not been announced we do expect to see this year model offered during the summer of fall of this year and that the sales will start few months after that. Since there will be no significant changes delivered for the 2015 Honda Civic we do expect to see quite similar prices. When it was offered it had price slightly lower than $19.000 and we do expect this to go slightly higher while the hybrid model will still be about $6000 more than the base version. With top of the offer that comes with a lot of great options and features price will go to about $25.000.
