One of the legendary and iconic cars on the U.S. market certainly is the Mustang. Because of this status the 2015 Ford Mustang needs to offer great features so it would cope with high expectations that buyers have from vehicles in this lineup.
In 2014th this vehicle will turn 50 since the first one debuted at the 1964 New York World’s Fair. This special date will be marked with delivery of new, redesigned Mustang. Many changes are expected especially since this vehicle will go on global sales even more than ever before. To be more appealing to larger number of customers outside the U.S. this car will receive changes that will reduce total weight while the engines will be more efficient. With lower weight it will offer better handling and performances so there is no doubt that it will not disappoint traditional fans.
Exterior will remain pretty much same when it comes to dimensions but the design will be changed so it would be comply with new and modern looks of vehicles that we could see from Ford. Design cues from Fusion and other cars will be offered and this will be most notable on the front grille.
2015 Mustang Concept
It is quite obvious that there are many similarities with Aston Martin front grille but still 2015 Ford Mustang will come with a well known badge on the front. Original design for 2015 model was rejected because it was not enough Mustang but now this has been solved.
On the production ready model we are able to see large vents on the hood and these are testimony to the power that this vehicle offers. On the back, window peak extending from the roof are something that we could see on SRT Viper while the side windows reminds us on a new Corvette.
Retro design inside is still present and we can see two large gauges in front of driver. Dashboard will leak forward and will bring dual cowls that we are used to see on many Mustangs before. Depending on the choice we will be getting either MyFord Touch for the first time in Mustang or the HVAC controls. Changeable light of the interior in terms of colors will be also available, this time it will be offered on almost every part of the interior.
Specs List Of New Mustang
Here comes the important part, engines. For the 2015 Ford Mustang we will be getting same lineup like for currently available model, 3.7 liter V6 and 5.0 V8 units that offer 305 and 420 hp. Transmission will again come as a six speed manual or automatic while there are expectations that the 10 speed automatic will be offered in two or three years after launch. There are also expectations that after few years we could be getting 500+ hp models.
It is also interesting to say that we will be getting 2.3 liter four cylinder turbocharged unit that should offer 310 hp and will be a more premium than the V6 model. It will offer better performances and fuel economy while the torque curve will be flat and more interesting to many drivers. Another possibility is the 3.5 liter V6 EcoBoost unit that we could see in Taurus SHO and that should be tuned to offer about 400 hp. EcoBoost unit will most likely come in 2017th.
For those that are interested in high performance model there will be a 5.8 liter V8 unit that with the help of supercharger offers 662 hp. Just as usual this car should bring 2015 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 badge. Two more high performance models are mentioned and one of those is the V8 turbo with 5.0 to 5.5 liter displacement and should offer 550 to 600 hp in Shelby GT350 model. Second high performance model should be delivered instead of Boss 302 but the information’s are pretty scarce on this version.
2015 Ford Mustang Price
Price increase is also expected but to stay competitive it should not be changed a lot. Starting price should be around $ 35.000 while for the models with more powerful engines and special editions we can expect to see $ 80.000 price tag or in some cases even more.
