Here we have the official images for the 2014 Renault Megane that will be delivered with significant changes in design and new option under the hood. This facelifted model will allow it to stay competitive on the market for few more years before new generation is delivered.
Facelifted Megan has been released at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September and we could notice that there was a decent number of people that were interested to see this vehicle. Pretty good sale results are expected but we will have to wait and see how will it go on the market.
Front of the car is designed similar to what we are getting from other vehicles in the lineup of this car maker. Similarities with Scenic and Captur are obvious but still it comes different. Front is dominated by large Renault logo that is placed in the middle of the gloss black strip that runs across the entire nose. Curvier front lamps design has been applied making it more rounded.
Each corner gets daytime running lights in slim package while we are offered with large air vents that are placed under the vent. Redesigned front bumper allows it to offer better air flow that will maintain ideal temperature of the engine and allow it to breathe more easily.
2014 Renault Megane Changes
These are pretty much complete differences that will be delivered for the 2014 Renault Megane, we do not expect any additional changes to both interior and exterior of this vehicle. Cabin will remain pretty much the same giving decent level of comfort.
Under the hood we are getting new TCe engine that comes to the lineup. This unit offers 128 bhp and should offer decent performances and improvements on the fuel economy. This engine comes paired with six speed dual clutch automatic transmission and will be offered in all three body version that will be offered during the next year, hatchback, coupe and estate.
Facelifted 2014 Megane
The 2014 Renault Megane will offer decent number of engines for everyone to choose from. Every buyer will be able to get this model with 1.2 liter petrol engine, 1.5 liter diesel dci unit or the 1.6 liter diesel version. The 1.6 liter petrol unit is offered in Expression+ trim with starting price of slightly over 20,000 Euros.
Most popular choice is the 1.6 liter diesel engine and it comes in two states of tune. Less powerful dCi unit is available in dCi 110 version and it pumps out 109 bhp and 192 lb-ft of torque at 1750 rpm. This setup will allow acceleration from 0 to 62 mph in 12.1 seconds. More powerful is the dCi 130 version with 128 bhp and 236 lb-ft of torque at 2000 rpm. This version needs about 2 seconds less to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph which is done in about 10.1 seconds but you will have to pay almost 2000 Euros more than for the dCi 110 version.
For the facelifted, 2014 Renault Megane model, we do expect to see a slight price increase but nothing significant. There are no official figures but according to rumors and reports it should be in the range lower than £17.000 when the sales start.
