It seams that the 2014 BMW 2 Series will be delivered instead of the 1 Series. This announcement is related to coupe version but will almost certainly include all other versions available in both of this lineup making the end of production for 1 Series that should return within next few years.
As a release date for the 2 Series we could hear the 2014 Detroit Auto Show that starts in January while the sales will start in the first quarter of 2014th. New model will offer many improvements and it will be delivered with 2 gasoline engines making it bigger, faster, more powerful, wider, longer and more economical compared to previous 1 Series models. What we could hear is that this car will come as a coupe only at the launch while convertible and four door sedan models will follow.

BMW 2 Series Release Date
Compared to the 1 Series we are getting the 2014 BMW 2 Series with interior improvements. Even 1 Series offers decently equipped interior we will be getting more from this car. Improvements are noticeable but have in mind that they are not anything near revolutionary. On the exterior we have 16 inch wheels as a standard but the 17 inch alloys are also available and this is one of the things that could significantly improve the looks of this vehicle.
Price of this model should not vary much from currently available version and it will sit between 1 and 3 Series in the lineup. Base price for the 2.0 liter turbocharged model should be about $32,100 and when more options and features is added it will go significantly higher.
